All that we offer...
DSAL partners with other agencies throughout the County to create and provide effective recreational and leadership activities to local youth of all ages. Some of the past and current programs we offer are:
Free Bowling @ Manor Bowl
Throughout the school year, this activity is provided for Arroyo High School students after school on Tuesdays. Students and staff can bowl and compete for prizes.
Martial Arts Training
Martial arts training travels throughout the San Lorenzo Unified School District, with classes that have been at San Lorenzo HS, Edendale Middle School and Arroyo HS coming soon.
Dance Classes
In partnership with the Passion Society, we have been able to provide hip hop and Latin dance classes to students at East Bay Arts HS, San Lorenzo HS and Edendale Middle School.
Soccer
In partnership with Hayward Area Recreation and Parks District (HARD), we offer soccer teams at 12 schools throughout the San Lorenzo and Hayward Unified School Districts. All games are played at the Sunset Field in Hayward on Saturdays! We also train youth and parents to be volunteer coaches and paid referees!
Golf
Skywest Golf Course has generously offered to allow local youth to play the course with our Deputies for free on alternate Wednesdays throughout the school year.
Cooking Class
San Lorenzo High School's after school program has enabled us to provide a twice-a-week cooking class where students learn everything from the basics of any kitchen to gourmet meals...and they get to eat it too!
